Staff Shout-Outs!

These staff shout-out cards are a simple but powerful way to increase teacher recognition at your school, and hopefully move the needle of school climate in at least the right direction.

To get started, simply print out copies of the below Google Doc and cut them in half. Then, place them in your mail room, staff break room, or other central area for teachers. Finally, inform teachers on campus about what they are for. You can copy the text at the bottom of the page and send as an email, or print the one-page description and add it to a standee next to the shout-outs.

Most importantly, fill some out yourself! Make it a goal to try and fill out at least 2 a week yourself and watch the change that will occur on you campus.

These can be printed and started by anyone at the school! It is great coming from a principal, but it can be just as meaningful if started by a teacher or instructional coach. Go out and spread the joy!

Hello Staff!

I wanted to take a quick second to let you know about a new opportunity on campus. I have placed in the mail room a stack of Shout Out! cards. These Shout Outs! are available for any person on campus to fill out for another person on campus. It might be for another teacher who helped you plan a lesson, for a front desk clerk who gave you a nice welcome this morning, They can be specific or generic.

Simply write the name of the person you would like to shout out, a quick note for why you would like to shout them out, and then your name. Adding your name is optional, maybe consider a little nickname if you’re feeling sneaky. Lastly, place the Shout Out! in the mailbox of the person to receive it.

If you have any questions, as always, feel free to ask!
