Hello, and welcome to Episode 57 of the Planning Period Podcast, your #EdBreakroom. I’m your host, Brad Shreffler.
This week is something totally different. Based off another podcast I love, Very Bad Wizards, I am going to be doing some movie reviews from an educational spin. The idea was to take the movies that are so quintessential to education and dissect them to see if there were real lessons for true classroom teachers in them, or if like much of the movie world, they were all smoke and mirrors.
In my infinite brilliance, I thought Shane Lawrence of The Ed Podcast would make a great first guest, and the movies he picked to discuss were either old and I never heard of them, or Star Wars. You know, because when one thinks great movies about teaching, they think Star Wars.
Anyways, sit back and enjoy as Shane Lawrence and I dissect Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back from an educational lens. Mostly, it’s just me hating on Yoda and both of us geeking out about Star Wars, but the intent was there.
If you have comments or questions about the show, you can always connect with me on twitter, @BradShreffler, and now on Instagram @BradShreffler as well. I love to hear from you there.
