Jackie Ihnenfeld – Parent Involvement and High Expectations

Hello, and welcome to Episode 78 of the Planning Period Podcast, your #EdBreakroom. I’m your host, Brad Shreffler.

This week on the show I am joined by the Curriculum Resource Specialist at my school Jackie Ihnenfeld. Jackie is one of the people that forced me into my master’s program, but she is also one of the best instructional leaders and new-teacher mentors I have had the pleasure of working with.

Jackie and I talk about being in an Education Leadership Master’s, her path to coaching, the problems with the public perception of education, the need for parent involvement in schools, why teachers should stop and talk to others on campus each day, demanding the best from your students, and the struggles and compromises that come with our general teacher shortage.

So, sit back and enjoy Episode 78 of the Planning Period Podcast, my interview with Jackie Ihnenfeld.

Jackie, thank you so much for joining me on the show.

Until next week, go talk to someone on your campus and pick their brain.
