Hello, and welcome to Episode 64 of the Planning Period Podcast, your #EdBreakroom. I’m your host, Brad Shreffler.
This week on the show I am joined by Kassi Gulliford, a middle school band director out of South Eastern Virginia. She and I actually went to high school together, and played and marched in band together. She and I are friends on Facebook, and her posts constantly have me in tears or applauding on a regular basis, so I knew she would be a great guest on the show.
Kassi and I talk about accepting our students appropriately, the damage of testing on our system and our schools, standards-based grading in band and how powerful it can be, the value of arts education, the pressures of teaching on teachers, and how teachers need to relax sometimes, and the respect that elective teachers get from their students.
So, sit back and enjoy Episode 64 of the Planning Period Podcast, my interview with Kassi Gulliford.
Kassi, thank you so much for joining me on the show. It was great to catch up over our shared interests!
